Do I need to register if I want to rent a snowmobile for myself?

Registration is not mandatory, but we recommend it, as it allows you to easily view all your bookings in one place. You can also rent a snowmobile without registering.

How much does it cost to rent a snowmobile?

You can easily see starting prices both in the search results and in each listing. Once you’ve found a suitable snowmobile, you can check the exact price for your chosen dates directly by selecting them in the booking calendar.

Is renting a snowmobile through the site safe?

We verify all rental providers and instruct them to keep their listings and calendars up to date, and to handle bookings in a customer-friendly manner. If we detect any issues in the behavior or practices of either providers or renters, we intervene immediately. Can I cancel my booking?

Yes, you can. Cancellations must be made according to the rental provider’s instructions. Please read the cancellation policy in the specific snowmobile listing before booking. Am I making a rental agreement with varaakelkka.fi?

The rental agreement is always made between the rental provider and the renter. The agreement is considered valid once the renter books the snowmobile and completes the payment. You can read detailed instructions in our Terms of Use and Rental Agreement.

Is booking and paying through the booking calendar safe?

Yes, it is! We manage the site ourselves. The booking calendar is powered by WordPress’s Dokan plugin, and payments are processed by the Finnish payment institution Paytrail. You can rest assured that booking and paying through our site is completely safe.

Why do you ask for a copy of my driver’s license when renting?

For safety reasons. We want to ensure that the renter has a valid driving license. Checking the driver’s license is also part of the rental provider’s duties at the time of the rental.

What happens after I make a booking?

After booking, you will receive a confirmation email with your chosen dates, the payment amount, and other booking details. In the same email, you’ll also receive the rental provider’s contact information so you can reach out if you have any questions. The provider will also receive your booking details and contact information via email, allowing them to contact you before the rental if needed.

The rental went well or could have been better – where can I leave feedback?

After your rental, you can leave feedback for the provider on our website. Simply select the snowmobile you rented and you’ll find a feedback/review form in the listing. You can also send feedback directly to the provider’s email or to our customer service email.

How can I become a rental provider?

What does it take or cost to become a rental provider?

To become a provider, you must have a Business ID (Y-tunnus) through which you can rent out snowmobiles.

Joining is free – we operate entirely on a commission basis. This means if you don’t receive bookings through us, using our service won’t cost you anything.
